When I started working with Howya the company was still in the process of building the app. I had the opportunity to work with the small but mighty team and create enormous brand awareness across South Africa before the app launched.
Throughout my time with Howya, I ran their social media pages and created content for both Facebook & Instagram. I also assisted in the planning and execution of three pre-launch events in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
In order to create brand awareness a lot of Howya's content was focused around what the user will be able to do on the app. therefore, we arranged a lot of smaller events like hikes, surfing sessions, yoga classes and running groups just to name a few. At these smaller events we were able to capture content that was shared on all social media platforms. During my time at Howya I also took photo's at events & edited content.
Below are some of the social media posts that I collaborated on as well as some of the events.
Cape Town Competition - As part of creating brand awareness, we created a big competition to go alongside the Cape Town pre-launch. This was a social media campaign where followers had to comments, like & share the post in order to win a trip to the pre-launch party worth R30 000.00
Alongside the launch, we entertained the two winners in Cape Town for a weekend. They stayed in a villa in Clifton, they had a fine dining experience at the villa where private chefs came to cook for a group of us & they attended the event alongside Cape Town's most up & coming as well as established influencers.
Cape Town Launch - This has been featured on Howya's Instagram & Facebook page.
Hike - This hike was to show users that they can find groups of like minded individuals and meet up with them to participate in fun events. This has been featured on Howya's social media pages.
Instagram Stories/Polls - In order to keep followers engaged I created polls that revolved around some of the events & adventures that you could participate in on the app.
Youth Skating Event - A skating boarding competition held in Durban in collaboration with Khule Ngubane & sponsored by Monster Enegry Drinks & pattocean.
